Digital camera Review: **PRETTY CRAPPY OVERALL**
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought two of these with intentions to pair them off in a fw800 daisy-chain. Seems like something that should work, right? Nope. The units do not possess any self identifying attributes by which my mac can differentiate between them, thereby rendering the "smart" power-down and sleep functionality not only useless but a constant hindrance and source of frustration. I don't think that Western Digital did much testing before declaring that this family of drives is specially formatted for macs. So, for mac users out there with the wild idea of purchasing more than one of these - NOT A GOOD IDEA.
Also, the LED display on the front is really bright and never stops flickering. The plastic power (toggle) button on the back doesn't work consistently. Overall, I'd strongly discourage anyone from spending money on this drive.

On the other hand, Amazon was phenomenal with their customer service and timely delivery. Thanks Amazon.

Digital camera Review: 1Tb of crapola
Summary: 1 Stars

I tried to spend my money wisely and maybe this was just a fluke, but all I know for sure is my 1tb WD Studio lasted 1 1/2 months before dying. The Apple store I took my system to(not bought there)told me I need to get the data recovered. Nice 100 mile drive and the cost of recovery I haven't a clue, so I'm thinking I would never buy another one since it died just outside of the 30 day return period. What a piece of junk.

Digital camera Review: A class action suit waiting to happen!
Summary: 1 Stars

The My Book series is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen and I would be happy to join it. The design is so inferior that the drives get too hot and burn up - on both Mac and Windows. If it's under warranty, they send you a used, beat up replacement that someone else returned ... and the warranty does NOT start all over again. It applies only to your original piece of junk.
Customer "service" is based in India and the techies can't speak English.
I bought 3 of these and am considering legal action after the replacement also went belly up - very hot to the touch. It was my backup drive and now the backup is gone.
I used to sing the praises of WD, but never again. They care nothing about the customer - only about how money they can screw you out of.
If you have a My Book that has NOT fried yet, remove it from that horrible case so ti can stay cool. The warranty for it is worthless anyway. YouTube has a decent video on how to open the case and remove it. Search "remove My Book".

Digital camera Review: ALL YOU COULD EXPECT!
Summary: 5 Stars

Simply plugged it in and hooked it up via firewire and it worked perfectly. Very quiet. I like it so much, I will be buying another soon.

Digital camera Review: Absolutely fabulous
Summary: 5 Stars

Have had the drive for months now and I also have a 24" IMac. The drive is flawless. I haven't experienced the freezing up of the drive as some have stated and it has been wonderful. I've filled it with Old Radio programs and my music and I love it!
