Digital camera reviews of 2-in-1 USB Hotsync & Charging Dock Cradle with Remote Control for Apple Ipod 3rd, 4th, 5th Generation, Mini, Photo, U2, Nano, Video, Classic, TouchDigital camera Review: Not what it seems Summary: 1 Stars
There are no cables with this. No power cable, nothing to connect it to your stereo. So it does not actually do anything other than prop up your iPOD. I sent mine back!
Digital camera Review: Remote Doesn't Work - Returned the Item Summary: 1 Stars
This is the first item I've ever had to return from Amazon. The USB power connector on the back is installed upside down. In addition, the remote does not work consistently. You have to punch the same button about 10 times before it will register, even if you're only standing 1 foot in front of the dock. Since the main reason I bought this product was to have remote that I could use from across the room, I am sending it back because the remote is non-functional. The aesthetics of the remote are also very cheesy - the buttons are just raised plastic bubbles, and are hard to press. Also, the remote does not work if your IPod is locked, whereas, Apple's Universal Remote will work even if the IPod is locked.
Digital camera Review: The best dock I've had so far for an ipod Summary: 5 Stars
I use this dock for my aerobics class and it is extremely versatile. The remote is very responsive, even at a 20' distance from the base, and has functions that can navigate you through any area of your ipod. I use it with my 2nd generation ipod touch (no adapter required), but it also works with all nanos and the mini. In addition, the dock features an 1/8" port on the back to plug into a stereo system or an amp. This was important for me since the earphone jack is on the bottom of my itouch and nano. I'm going to stock up on a few of these.
Digital camera Review: To use with existing speakers Summary: 5 Stars
I already have a number of great sound systems, and I've heard the quality of many ipod boom-box setups. They have the advantage of letting you interact and charge your ipod while listening to music, something you couldn't do with your own speakers, but basically still sound awful, with limited frequency response and a concentrated sound like they're coming from a box--they are.
With this, you can be free of buying a new system with poor speakers for your ipod by simply upgrading your old one. I like my stereo systems to have remotes, so now I have one that works with my ipod.
You can do ALL the menu settings from the remote, because it has arrow keys and an enter button. Besides the immediate volume and play controls, it also has specific keys for Mute, Repeat, and Shuffle. Very handy-I can use it as my alarm and then shut it off without getting out of bed.
Buy this and a 2.1 set of cheap desktop speakers, like those from Cyber Acoustics, and you'll have a setup the envy of i-homers at at half the cost.
Digital camera Review: WORKS w/ I-phone 3g not for ITouch 2nd G Summary: 3 Stars
I think the other reviewers don't know how to use this docking/craddle. Like it says in the instructions, "For iPhone: once connected, it will show error message. Click 'No' and this cradle will work perfectly fine" Ours work great w/ our IPHONEs 3g and even charges them, the remote also works great. I have 2 of these one at work connected to a pair of DELL speakers and one at home connected to our BOSE wave cd/radio, we own 2 Iphones 3gs and never had encountered any problems, using these almost every day for about 6 months now. Low cost for a great product.
Doesn't work with I-Touch 2G
