I was pleasantly surprised by the extra high quality construction of this cable. The cable itself is coax: the jacket reads "MonopriceŠ UL C(UL) E323003 AWM STYLE 2791 RG-59/U 75 OHM COAXIAL CABLE 80°C 30V VW-1 CSA LL82009 FT1 RATED". It's about twice as thick as I might have guessed. The jacks are branded "Monoprice" and very nicely made, and the good quality strain relievers are bonded to the cable jacket. Immediately after the stereo plug the cable becomes two-stranded, but the two halves are bonded together over the full length except for the last four inches where the RCA jacks can be separated. In spite of the very strong jacketing the cable is reasonably flexible. This item far exceeded my expectations.
