These little hooks look too small to hang a picture securely, but they really work. I have used them to hang everything from 8" X 10" framed family photos to small paintings (about 18" by 20"). Nothing has fallen down yet! Note: You need to have a "sawtooth" hanger on the back of the picture or a wire across the back of the painting to use this kind of hook. Another tip: Double check when you attach the sticky part to the back of the hook that the tab is hanging down, so the picture will cover up the unsightly tab. For some reason I didn't pay close attention and affixed the tab in the wrong direction a few times.
