When I first got this little webcam I was shocked. Mostly because it only cost me 5.00$ and it had no instructions. When I started using it, I realized that it works perfectly! I love how you can make the picture a lot sharper then those expensive cameras that are around like 10-20$. I think what really shocked me was the easy installation.... there was none! You just plugged it in and ta-da you can use it. My friends said they could see me clearly, and I really enjoyed the little light switch thing- it helps when your video-chatting in the night. Overall this was a great investment and I hope anyone who comes across this product will love it as much as I did!Digital camera Review: Awsome webcam

That cam is just Awsome .
i was using a logitech webcam for at least twice the price of that one.
i was little bit afraid if that cam would work on a mac as well.
but to my surprise it worked fine with NO additional driver , it seems to be one of these cams that work with universal driver.
great framerate , great resolution , great colors and huge field of view.

I don't know why hottestdeals dont sell this with the driver. No you dont need it but I contacted them and asked for the driver and they emailed me the link. THe driver allows you to do a lot of cool stuff like zoom, face only, your picture can be viewed in a choice of a dozen backgrounds great optino if you dont want to show your house while chatting. Also allow you to take stil photos. Very clear video easy to use the lights make it even better during low light situations. Certianly worth more money and even looks cool. I just bought this webcam last week. I have two other webcams but they are both designed for laptop, which means they have a much shorter cable. That makes them much harder to use on my desktop. So I started looking for one for my desktop computer which my wife uses to talk to the in-laws. My previous webcams are creative and logitech, in the $40 price range. I am not quite satisfied with their image quality but I don't want to pay $100 for a highend webcam either. I found this webcam by accident and the reviews are not bad and the price is right. How can you go wrong with a $12 webcam. So I decided to give it a try.
The packaging is almost none. Only a clear plastic bag. No manual either. There is a Ulead Video Studio 8 CD but no driver. The good news is it is super simple to install. Just plug in and 10 seconds later WindowsXP said it was installed and ready to use. I immediately tested it in Skype. The picture quality is the best I have ever seen in a web cam. Very natural color even in not well lit room. My previous Creative cam used to be very dark or very bright, most of the time redish in this condition. But this cam did a perfect job. The lens look bigger than my Creative one, I guess that helped.
The web cam looks not very attractive but it has some very useful features. I will try to explain what I found to fill in the missing manual. There is a button on top of the cam but I think it is a fake. The cam moves both horizontally and vertically. There are 4 LED lights, which is controlled by a switch in the middle of the USB cord. The switch is a dimmer switch but don't expect you can dim the LEDs, they only go on and off. A surprise feature is that the base is actually a rubber sucker. It also has a dial that you can turn to make it suck on the table surface.
Over all, I give it a five star as the image quality is really superb. That's what I care the most.

This is definitely the best webcam I've ever used, and that's not even considering the fact that I paid less than six dollars for it. As soon as I plugged it in, I was able to use it with my video capture software on both Windows 7 and on my secondary Linux install. The picture quality is better than I expected from a cheap webcam, and the framerate and quality are even better with the right positioning and lighting conditions. I originally got this to try out basic head tracking for my computer, but I quickly noticed one feature that I'm sure many people have overlooked: When you set the focus extremely close, you can get near-microscope zoom on some objects. I tried a strand of my hair, scraps of paper, my eyelashes, and even candy, and the webcam displayed beautiful detail in them that the naked eye generally can't see. I've also used it with Skype and Chatroulette, and of course it performs flawlessly. Definitely a great product, and I'll surely recommend it to anyone I know that doesn't already have a webcam.
