Digital camera Review: Better than some $100 cams out there!

This webcam is just about the greatest bargan I have ever stumbled across.
It is totally plug and play, and comes totally unfettered by unnessicary software. Works well with built in Windows XP software. for those confused by the button on top of the camera, that is the shutter for still photos. (And yes, it takes great stills)
The xtra bonus is the four adjustable LED lights. Nice to have if your room suffers from poor lighting. Overall construction very durable, and the swivel mount and suction base are a big plus.
All and all, a great little item. Grab yours before the price goes up... way up.
Digital camera Review: Cam didn't work!

I have to return this cam because of two major reasons.
1.) The lights did not power on
2.) There was a weird pattern showing up over the image going to the screen. It was not dust. It was more like a honeycomb pattern which whited out the portions of the image it covered
This cam came poorly packaged, which is pretty uncommon for Amazon products. I don't think the cam was well-protected at all, which might be why it was not functioning properly.
I guess you get what you pay for; when it comes to electronics, maybe you should spend a little more!

I purchased this camera to video conference with relatives. It works as advertised. The picture quality is very clear and our family and friends can see us clearly. What a great way to keep in touch especially around the holidays! I would buy this camera again and again because you can't beat the price (under $10.) or the quality for the money. Purchased this to do simple web cam operations. Doesn't have a mic built into it, but I didn't need one. Purchased it simply because it was inexpensive. Picture quality is fine and I am completely happy with the purchase. A lot of reviews have faulted this product for not being a true "5 megapixel". I have not actually tried taking any photos with this product, so I will not be able to address if this is really true or not. I have mainly used this webcam with things like Windows Live Messenger and Skype. I give this product a 5-star rating simply because it does what it does in a very simple and elegant fashion. You receive the item from your doorstep, you unbox the item, you hook up the item to your USB port, it installs the item, you restart all your video-capable software (to help with the auto-detection, or you could do this manually under your software's option settings respectively), and you are good to go. That's it. No driver hunting necessary (my platform is Windows 7). For 10 dollars, it does what it does very well, and that is to help me communicate with my family and loved ones easily. On another note, this product seems to remind me of Sauron's "Eye" tower in Lord of the Rings. If you have a glass-top table, the camera's suction-based bottom can be used to keep the camera in place, another nice touch. It even features 4 leds to help with lighting. While it is good, it does seem a little blinding if the camera is in front of you. Again, if you're using it for day-to-day video use, this product will do its job well.
P.S. There are drivers out there that will allow you to configure this web camera even further. Read through the reviews here to find it. You can add snow, etc. Just be careful though, Sometimes, that custom driver locks up, so if you don't want to deal with the hassle, then just ignore this suggestion.
