This Fm transmitter is a great concept, but we live in the mountains and non of the Fm signals must be clear enough because there is way too much noise coming thru. I have tried the suggestion made by the manufacturer to improve this, which is by leaving the Ipod's background light always on. I did not see any improvement. I may just keep it as a holder/car charger. I am not surprised, in a way. The product looks cheap, unlike the pictures show. It does not fit in my 2005 Honda Accord Coup beside the shift handle, or it fits awkwardly. I then hook it up with the lighter in the box/seat arm and it fits better but still awkwardly. It is not on automatically when starting up, and tuning up may take some effort, especially in the squeezed seat arm box. Signal was better in country areas, but have noise in every channel when I drive to Cherry Hill, NJ which is 10 miles from Philly. I would not buy it if I knew all these, but feel it is OK to use. By the way, the shipping from Satechi is fast, except the box was not sealed.
After less than one month of using it, it broke. I contacted Satechi, who was very helpful, and sent me a label for shipping it back. I actually ordered another FM transmitter from them. I would still recommend them

This is a quality car kit from Satechi. Everything in the Kit was protected with a covering to protect from scratches. The product is not inexpensively made and has a lot of nice features. The unit adjusts to any size Ipod and it actually fit into the lighter connection without slipping out.
I initially plugged it in, tuned to the first radio station that had vacant spots around it and it played through the car speakers. WAHOO!! I did lose the signal a few times for a short moment when running under traffic lights and such, but believe that if I spent a little set up time (including setting the remote) the unit would have performed at its best. But in these days of instant gratification, it was wonderful to take a few moments to find a station and listen to my Ipod music on the way to work.
I highly recommend this car kit from Satechi. It is without question a nice unit and worth the money. The company also followed up to make sure that I was content with everything.
One note: My daughter needed to read the instructions for me because it is small print... not tiny, just more than my eyes could read. So, if your over 40, have a friend around to read you the set-up directions. Have fun and enjoy your Ipod music in the car! WAHOO!!

I had a few problems with the first one but Satechi offered to replace it immediately with no cost to me. I received it quickly and it performed very nicely. I think my 4th generation Ipod is still a little narrow for a tight hold but larger ones would definitely have a better fit. Once in a while you might hear interferences from radio towers near strong signals but the sound is good otherwise when on the right frequency. The remote is working fine and I love being able to take my preference of music with me this way. Satechi definitely gets 5 stars on customer service.
