Digital camera reviews of 8-Port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Pa...Digital camera Review: Awesome Results Summary: 5 Stars
After having intermittent problems with my cable, ( no signal at times on various channels and poor reception ) I finally decided to try this amplifier. Just happened that the day that I received the amplifier my cable was acting up again. I immediately when up in the attic and installed this amp and tuned the TV to one of the problem channels, Problem solved! Just a note: the cable company had split my cable outside of my home, one split to my internet connection and one up into the attic for my TV's. The TV line was again split with a four-way splitter with one additional two-way splitter coming off the four-way splitter. From everything that I have read, you lose signal strength at each split. I currently have five TV's and this product delivered.

These things are great, My Father in-law had aweful cable reception, I installed one of these and perfect picture on every TV.
Liked it so much I installed a 4-way in my attic for my HD antenna, and just put this 8-way in my basement for my cable. I now have perfect antenna and cable signal in my barn which is 200 feet from my house. Worth every penny!!!

I purchased this because I just moved and the previous owners had butchered the CATV connections. The CATV guy came out, connected it at the street, then we come inside and he tests a few of the jacks and says the signal is terrible, we'll never get a picture. He then traces the feed from the side of the house to the splitter, but the prior owners had finished a closet below where the splitter was, so he said to fix all the inside wiring would cost several hundred dollars and I would be left with a hole in the ceiling.
So I said "no thanks" and began my efforts to fix it myself. I 1st had to cut a hole in the closet ceiling and install an access panel to get to it (more professional than the wonderful CATV company who would have hacked a hole in the drywall, the plastic panel I used cost $15 at a local home improvement retailer). Then in troubleshooting the existing wiring, I find out they had the cable input wired to an output on a passive splitter, and an output wired to the input. Sheesh, how they ever watched TV here is beyond me! I then figured out the splitter was bad and one-by-one connected the input to each output w/ a coupler and labeled them. I then picked the 8 (out of 12) cable outlets I wanted active, bought this baby, installed it, and I have crystal clear picture/sound on all eight TV's! That includes digital TV, standard TV, and HDTV via a converter box/DVR. In my previous house I had a passive 8-way splitter and the pictures were horrible (snow, pixelation, etc.). This splitter/amp really does the trick, I wish I would have bought it years ago in my old house, I just didn't bother because I didn't have a handy AC source like I did here. I highly recommend this splitter/amp, a fantastic product and good price! I can't comment on cable modem as I have DSL, but it will drive 8 TV's flawlessly!
Digital camera Review: Better than expected! Summary: 5 Stars
I recently canceled my cable and am now using OTA for my TV. I installed a DB2 which has about 100' of coax to the splitter on the outside of the house, which then feeds the 6 TV's I am using in the house. prior to ordering this signal booster, I was having trouble receiving all available channels or poor signal strength. I removed the splitter on the outside of the house and replaced it with this signal booster. I know receive all available channels with 100% signal strength! Goodbye cable!!
Digital camera Review: Cable Amplifier Splitter Works Great Summary: 5 Stars
My home is 25 years old w 25 year old coax cable. I have probably 10 splits througout the house. I was having poor video issues on the 2nd floor, the farthest point from the cable entrance to the home. Bought the splitter, plugged it in and connected the coax cables and I saw an immediate improvement on all TVs. Pictures are clear with great defintion and no ghost images. My house was wired using many of the cable connections daisy chained together rather then running each drop to a central distribution point. The product worked as expected. I have no regrets and highly recommend it.
