Digital camera Review: Worked well on a Dell PC. No fuss.

A smart power strip is a great idea. I'm going around my house finding things that consume power when they're not in use, and making sure they're off when they're supposed to be off.
This APC Power worked on my Dell PC the first time. It has no adjustments at all, unlike the Smart Strip unit Smart Strip SCG3 Energy Saving Power Strip with Autoswitching Technology I bought first, and returned in frustration. That unit has a small screw adjustment which I had to fuss with a great deal, and still didn't get good results. The APC unit just worked when I connected it.
One note: APC advises that anything taking more than about 15 watts when in the low-power state (sleep or hibernate) won't trigger their unit to shut off. For some computers, this may mean needing to hibernate the machine, rather than sleeping it to get the strip to shut off properly. Hibernation is better, anyway, because it uses the least standby power.
