The APC BR1500LCD 1500VA 900 Watts 8 Outlets back-up is the most impressive reserve of emergency power that I have seen available for home/office protection! This leviathan comes with eight outlets, two of which support the extended use of emergency power, say for computer and monitor for 45 minutes or so. All of the outlets have dedicated filtering as well as a front meter that provides a readout of how much electrical resource remains. Additionally, all of the necessary line hook-ups for t.v./telephone/fax/modem outfitting are provided as well as the computer software to enable a safe shut-down of one's power configuration.Digital camera Review: APC BR-1500LCD is great!!!

This is a great battery back-up and surge protector.
If you want to good one, make sure it's the BR-1500LCD, if it's not the BR then it is a cheaper, consumer version that is lower cost and lower surge and brown-out protection.
Spend the extra money and get the BR-1500LCD, it's worth it if you have expensive equipment plugged in to it.

I purchased this back up system to protect a 32 inch LCD TV. It may be more that I needed but I selected this model because of it`s ability to provide protection for this and any future applications. APC is the only brand I trust and use. APC quality combined with Amazon prices made this decision a no brainer. TV`s, computers or any other electronics you want to protect, with this one you can not go wrong. I highly recomend this product.

Very nice and easy to setup and use. Does what it's supposed to. I purchased this particular model because of the LCD display plus I needed more capacity for a new computer. The dark color goes well with the current dark styling of most computers.Digital camera Review: APC BR1500LCD Review

I experienced a power outage within the first month after purchasing the unit. The power went off and on a couple times before going off completely for around 3 hours. It kept power to my DSL modem and router (my desktop computer was off) and also my satellite receiver and TV. It could have powered everything except my TV for over 4 hours. With the TV on it was a little over a half hour. We turned the TV on periodically to check the progress of a baseball game.
The thing I like best is it kept surges from entering my equipment when the power went off and back on a couple times before going off completely.
It certainly has the power to allow normal shutdown of my computer without loss of data if the occasion arises.
I only wish I had been using it over the past few years, since we have had many power outages and surges in my neighborhood. I believe those caused my A/V receiver to fail.
