This APC BACK-UPS ES BE750G 10-Outlet 750VA 120V UPS System was purchased to replace an older model used on my computer. The options on the new one are outstanding. With the additional outlets my whole computer system is protected. The only thing I would change is the spacing between outlets. The larger power cords are hard to arrange. This item APC BE750 is a replacement for an older model APC. One of the features I like is the 10 outlets. The extra run time for the computer when the power fails is nice also. All in all I am very pleased with this product. It does what I wanted it to.Digital camera Review: APC BE750G

This a decent unit for reliable standard power usage with a computer or other devices. It has plenty of plugs to accomodate most PC's cable modem, router, CPU, monitor, and printer so when the power goes out you have plenty of time to shut down safely. It has two major drawbacks, the location of the power button and the inability to use the software provided with it. The power button is on the top of the unit which can easily be accidentally pressed by someones foot, child, dog or cat. My cats have regularly stepped on it shutting everything down. I ended up taping a card over it in order to prevent accidental shut downs, especially while doing anything important like those dungeons in World of Warcraft. As for the PowerChute software you can't use it for automated options and you must rely on the Windows Backup features to have any type automated functionalty. I consider these design flaws. The power button should be remedied by putting the button on the side of the unit or at least recessing it so it can't be so easily pressed, and the software that comes with it should work with it.

I am very happy with this product. It is a high-quality, well-designed item that is priced right. Now, if we could just get the moronic component vendors (e.g. my ADSL modem and router) who persist on designing AC adapters that block adjacent open plugs to reorient their plugs by 90 degrees (or maybe APC could do this on their product), life would be even better....
