I bought this yesterday at Walmart for $14.97. I had a digital one previously that lasted for about 14 years and broke about 6 months ago. I get all my important calls on my cell phone, so we went without an answering service at home for a while. But with kids back in school and so many important places having our home number we want to have something just in case we get an important call, but we don't want to pay $10/month to the phone company for voicemail service. Well I hooked this up last night and tested it out. The quality is VERY GOOD for $15! It will get the job done, esp. since we depend more on our cell phones than our home phone. The features are very advanced over the last machine we had, and you just couldn't ask for more to meet the needs we have. This HANDS DOWN beats paying $120/year to the phone company for voicemail!!!!Digital camera Review: Exceeds what I expected

I am so glad that these answering machines are still made. The price is absolutely terrific (~$17). It works perfectly and does the job. I ordered 2 more so that when (or if) they fail, I will have replacements. I have used Verizon answering service and it was unstable and erratic and undependable. I am saving oodles of dollars per year and am thoroughly satisfied with this unit as a telephone answering device. I wish I could "save" the messages for posterity cause I can't find a way to download the messages so I have to record them. In this time when most people have voice mail, this is an excellent answering machine with many features. It is easy to program and setup.
It can be programmed to answer a call in many ways with many options you set to your particular needs.
I would highly recommend this unit.
