Price, delivery, condition ... service was very good. So far it has met every expectation. Clear, concise set up instructions. No tape to wear out. The digital factory recording is just what we wanted. Messages received have been very clear. Excellent product for home use. I bought this machine for my mother, and so far she really likes it. The only drawbacks that I see are:
1. It should have a phone-line cord jack rather than a hard-wired cord at the back of the unit. There may be cases where the hard-wired phone-line cord isn't long enough to reach an available phone outlet jack. That would require purchasing an extension cable.
2. When setting up the announcement, there is an initial "ramp up" time for the audio volume, which makes the first syllable or two of the first word in the announcement very low in volume.
For the money, this is a very cost-effective unit.

The answering machine met all of my needs. The feature of changing the answering message remotely has worked very well. The device is easy to operate. The quality of the voice recording is a little tinny, but is not difficult to understand. I especially like the ability to change the answering message from any touch tone telephone (no need to carry a separate device to operate this feature). This is a replacement for an old AT&T model 1717 answering machine. As such. it is a distinct step up from the older model. Setup is a little easier and more rational. Sound quality is a bit better. Based on one incident, it seems to retain some stored info when disconnected and/or the power goes off. Good product for an older person who doesn't need or understand all the new equipment and the bells and whistles. Almost every electronic device today has more things that it will do than older people want or understand. This meets the needs of my mother. The sound is mediocre at best, but the machine is relatively easy for her to operate. Because of the sound, I would not buy this for myself, but I'm more particular than my mother. It does the job for what I wanted it to do.
