OK, these days the plastic case is no longer just a shell for the tank-like Western Electric metal chassis, but the modern model is inexpensive, and it works. Maybe it won't last the twenty-plus years my previous Trimlines have, but I doubt I will have a need for a wire-line phone in twenty more years!Digital camera Review: Another Good Basic Phone

It's a very fair price and this is your basic phone (which is what I was looking for). The sound is good. But what impressed me is that this phone is a QUALITY phone. It is built solidly. It does not feel like those cheap thin weight-less plastic phones now available at Costco or Sam's Club. It doesn't feel cheap. Also, the black color will hide dirty fingerprints. I'm happy with this purchase.
