If you are looking for a very basic phone - if you do not care about speaker phones, 2 lines, answering functions and the like, this is a great phone. What it does, and will do both perfectly and forever with great clarity of sound, is it will answer all the calls coming into your line, and will dial all your calls going out. It is powered through the phone line, so you do not need a outlet. And, actually, the white version is under [...] - black cost a little more. This telephone fit the bill for what we were looking for. We wanted something inexpensive (translate to cheap!) but still good quality & with the features we wanted. It had to be corded so that it would still work if the power went out; we wanted to be able to adjust the bell volume for when it rang since we have it in the bedroom & didn't want it to scare us when it rang late at night, plus the lighted buttons on the handset are a nice plus. We're more than happy with our purchase of this phone & the price was a plus. We love Amazon.com. This is a magnificent little phone for the price. The sound is crystal clear. This phone is simply made and doesn't have a lot of complicated features that can make it difficult to use or tear up. This is just a standard old reliable phone. I also like the classic design. Everyone needs at least one corded phone because cordless phones do not work during a power failure. This AT&T 210 is an excellent choice for a corded phone. The lighted keypad is also a plus. I keep this phone in my bedroom, and it's so handy for waking up in the night and needing to make a call. The box says the AT&T 210 Trimline is the best selling phone of all time, and I can see why. It's reliable and doesn't have a bunch of complicated instructions and programming to follow. It has good clear sound, and the handset has adjustable volume, which makes it good for the hearing impaired. Cordless phones seems to be gaining in popularity, but everyone needs at least one corded phone in their house for in case of a power failure. This simple, inexpensive little phone is an excellent choice!
