Digital camera Review: AT&T CL84209 and Plantronics CS361N

I got this really great headset through work, a Plantronics CS361N. The product information was sketchy on the website at work, but the headset said DECT 6.0. I assumed that it would work with a DECT 6.0 phone system, or that it would use a standard connector to work with a regular phone. I was wrong, and the headset sat unused for a few weeks. I finally went to the Plantronics website and found their compatibility chart, which proved to be pretty much useless, as most of the phones I could find at normal retailers were not listed.
I finally chose a corded phone that seemed to be reasonably high quality, and bought it to test with the CS361N. I bought the AT&T CL84209 because of the wide range of AT&T phone types that were listed as compatible. When I got home, I connected the CS361N to the CL84209 and it worked right away.
Overall, the CL84209 seems to be working great. It even picked up a time signal from the phone line sometime the first day, so I did not even have to set the time. I have not really used the wireless handsets, so I cannot speak for battery life.
It is worth noting that when I put in qty 3 AAA batteries for backup, the phone would not work when plugged in. The phone was working just fine plugged into the wall with no batteries. It displayed NO AC POWER when I put the batteries in. I double checked the orientation of the batteries, and still got NO AC POWER. I finally removed one of the batteries, plugged it in, and it worked great. I have Belkin, APC, and Cyberpower UPS units all over the place, so my little problem with the AAA batteries is no big deal for me.
As for the Plantronics CS361N, I love it. I wish they had adapters for industry standard mini-jacks. If they did, I could have saved myself the price of a new phone system. My old Uniden 2-line cordless worked great.
