Do yourself a favor and buy another converter from a different company. This unit does not remember channels when put into standby and so you have to either leave it on all the time or do a 10 minute long scan whenever you want to use it. Note the other 2 DTV tuners I have (one standalone and one built into a satellite receiver) both scan in channels much faster and also remember them.
The company is a joke with no customer support. The warranty return program is setup to be a profit center for the company so there isn't any good way to return this defective product for replacement and Amazon won't take them back either (shame on you Amazon).
So do yourself a favor and avoid ALL products from this sham of a company!

This is the best converter on the market. I have a small living room so this sleek and small design was great for the limited space I had. Customer service was great. I received the "weak signal" message on my TV so when I called customer service, they recommended I use a higher performance antenna. They actually sold antennas so I purchased an antenna from them and it's been great!

I went out and picked up this beast from the local drug store using my government coupon to save some bucks.
It does work well, even giving me several channels I didn't have before... some cool features as well and easy to set up.
BUT...
It gets burning hot!!!!!!!
The first night the screen started glitching badly and I went over to play with the converter box. BURNING MFing HOTTT!!!!!!!!!
These idiots put the ventilation holes on the bottom! I've had to flip it upside down for better cooling to get it to be reliable.
It doesn't have an auto off like some other units; thus to avoid burning down my apartment building I have to turn it off manually when I leave the home.
Get a brand you've heard of.
