Do not purchase this product. Aside from being a very bare-bones converter box it has a constant static buzzing noise.
Attempting to return the product is not possible, because boxes purchased with a coupon cannot be returned to the store, and the manufacturer requires a 40 dollar deposit if returned to them.

Ordered this converter box for my dad for Christmas. He loves it! It actually comes in better than the one sitting in our living room. I selected this converter box on the basis of product reviews from the leading consumer testing association. It was highly rated, but I found that their testing overlooked a flaw that made this product close to worthless. It gets so hot that I am reluctant to leave it plugged in if there is no one in the room. The unit I received has ventilation holes in both the top and bottom and still gets too hot to touch. I have found other reviews that indicate older models had no ventilation holes in the top and evidently were even hotter.Digital camera Review: D/A TV converter

This is my only D/A converter, I can make no comparisons.
I have an outside roof fm/uhf antenna, The channel set up should be run several times, I got better reception each time. Most of the channels have good reception, one channel still pixalates, but I have not rotated the antenna, yet.
