Very pleased with the straight forward usefulness of this adapter.
Its cheap, gave me access to my massive storage drive with no SATA ports available and is exceptionally easy to install.
One thing that bothers me about it is the IDE interface portion, the pins feel a bit...flimsy, I suppose. Would rather it be in some sort of protective housing to protect the pins a bit.

I had tried various products to be able to hook up a SATA drive to an older PC. More specifically, I have an old IBM NetVista X41 (circa 2002) which has a 1.8Ghz processor, but back then, there was no such thing as dual core. I installed Windows 7 but it was extremely slow. Since it has a 17" screen, I wanted to be able to give it to my mom, but in its current state, it would drive my mom insane. I thought if I could hook up an SSD, it would help. I tried some cheaper adapters, but all failed. I decided based on Amazon's return policy, I'll give this one a shot... and thankfully, it works like a champ. As an example, turning on the machine, logging into Windows, having some Window weather gadgets on the screen which pull information from the Internet, bringing up a browser, and loading the default home page took 10 minutes! Now, with the SSD, it takes 4 minutes 46 seconds, a savings of over 50%! Some other PATA/SATA adapters require two power sources, one for the adapter and one for the drive, but this one only requires one. Well, I got this converter because my friend bought me a SATA disc instead of ATA for my XBOX :(. In the xbox didn't work! but for pc it WORKS! It isn't the saver I needed, but for pc you can buy it for sure.Digital camera Review: Good Product - Slightly Challenging to Install

Product works as advertized, instructions are perfect. Set the new drive as a slave. When I first installed the drive my Dell couldn't boot-up so I switched the bus locations and it worked perfectly. However, the install was very tight and I barely had enough flat cable to plug in the circuit board.Digital camera Review: Great Product

Great product - does what it says - just plug in and go. DOES NOT COME WITH JUMPER PIN for slave/master control - would have been useful.
