Digital camera reviews of Alkaline Battery Bulk PackDigital camera Review: Don't expect miracles Summary: 3 Stars
I've used these batteries from Amazon in the past and I'd say they are at least 80% as powerful as the name brands (Duracell/Energizer). If you do the math, they are still a good value at 20-25¢ compared to the big brands. But I see a lot of people complaining about the life of these batteries in their digital cameras, and I think that if you're buying these (or ANY alkaline battery) for a digital camera, you're going to be disappointed. Yes, they will work (briefly). But if you read the manual that came with your camera, you'll find they suggest more powerful batteries (like lithium or rechargeable NiMh) for best results. The current draw for the LCD screen in a digital camera is high and alkaline batteries just aren't up to the task. A brand new set of AA Alkaline batteries would be very lucky to have enough power for 50 pictures; the proprietary rechargeable lithium-ion batteries many cameras use are good for hundreds and hundreds of pictures.
Yes, you can use that space-saver spare on your car in a pinch, but I wouldn't recommend taking a vacation on it. Same thing with alkaline batteries in your digital camera.
Digital camera Review: Good value for AA batteries Summary: 4 Stars
Since various tests have found that all brands of normal AA batteries last roughly the same amount of time in normal devices, I decided to purchase this bulk pack of Ultralast batteries.
They come in a large block of 40, but once you open the package, they're packaged in packs of 4. I have not yet had any problems whatsoever with these batteries. Considering they are significantly cheaper than the 'big brands,' I could probably still come out ahead even if it took two of these batteries to equate one 'big brand' battery.
It's cheap and it works. What more could you ask for?
Digital camera Review: Great price.. Summary: 5 Stars
This price is pretty good for the pack of 40.I was concerned just for the life of these batteries, but it's ok and these are long lasting.
Digital camera Review: I wouldn't risk purchasing this product..... Summary: 1 Stars
I'm kind of shocked by the positive reviews these batteries received. Maybe I was unlucky and was shipped a bad batch but the first 4 batteries I attempted to use were all dead or very nealry dead. I returned the item to Amazon for a full refund, which took quite a bit of the sting off of my experience.
Digital camera Review: Not the same as store brands! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought these thinking they are the same as the Sam's/Walmart store brand bulk pack. They are not. About half the batteries are bad out of the pack.
They foreshadow their lack of quality control with an insert that says if any of these batteries are bad, please send them to ____ for a replacement. I really do not want to send a 20¢ (or any number of them) back for a replacement. I just want the battery to work.
BTW, I have not check the expected life. As I am only putting them in electronics that get infrequent use (kid's pencil sharpener) or have minimal power demands (remote controls).
