Digital camera reviews of All-in-One Travel Power Plug Adapter for US, UK, EU, AU

Digital camera Review: Clever design, shoddy construction
Summary: 1 Stars

This product has a great, compact design. Unfortunately it is flawed by two basic problems. First, in the UK configuration, the ground pole is not rigid enough and it can be quite difficult to plug the adapter into the socket (the plastic ground pole does not lock into position and folds in rather than pushing into the socket where it belongs). Second, and equally flawed is the surge protector aspect of the product. I left my adapter plugged in with nothing attached all day one day and came home to find the thing dead. I doubt it received a significant surge, other surge protectors in the room attached to the same outlet were untripped. Regardless, it rendered my unit useless 2 days into a 2 week trip.

Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone, and would suggest instead getting a more conventional conversion kit. It will be a more reliable and less frustrating experience.

Digital camera Review: Compact and works well
Summary: 5 Stars

Very clever and compact little adapter. Just be aware that when you extend some of the prongs, you must use the LOCK switch to lock them into place.

I saw the lock switch and assumed it was used only to lock the prongs back into the adapter when the prongs weren't in use. Wrong... you use this lock both when extending the prongs for use and when pushing them back to conceal them. If you don't lock the prongs when using them protruded, then you can't plug the adapter in. The outlet will appear to be pushing the adapter right back out again.

I didn't lock the prongs when extended and was absolutely baffled why every outlet in my house appeared to be pushing the adapter out again when I plugged it in. I theorized that the outlets had some secret spring-loaded safety feature and that the adapter was defective because it was tripping this non-existent safety feature. I even started to make a video review to prove to skeptics that my outlets were pushing out the adapter whenever I plugged it in.

A neighbor finally examined the adapter and reminded me of the lock switch... mystery solved, and I feel like someone with the IQ of a houseplant.

Digital camera Review: Decent for a cheap adapter
Summary: 4 Stars

Nice adapter, and after reading other reviews I knew about having to lock it out. My only gripe on it is the lack of a grounded option. So if it powering something important, or for more than casual use, you might want to get something else. Otherwise, good for the price.

Digital camera Review: Decent plug
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a decent power plug for the cost. Don't expect too much. This product is not a step up, step down adaptor. Just a plug. decent value for money. But took a long time to arrive.

Digital camera Review: Defective
Summary: 1 Stars

While this physically will plug into the required wall sockets, it doesn't work. You wouldn't think it would be possible to screw up a product this simple, but apparently they've managed. :(
