Digital camera Review: Great little speaker for the price

I'm very pleased with this speaker. I work primarily from home and I watch a lot of corporate videos and participate in on-line events throughout the day. I wanted a speaker that wouldn't take up too much space on my desk but provide rich sound. This absolutely does the trick. If you are a true audiophile you'll probably want something with a subwoofer but since I don't really use this for pure music listening it has enough bass for me. In summation - for the price it sounds great and I'm not kicking anything under my desk or messing with a ton of speaker wires. The easy access to the headphone jack and the overall dimensions are why I bought this unit. Sits in front of the lower part of my iMac with room to access the iMac's power button. Sound quality is just OK, about what you would expect from the 2" or so diameter speakers inside it. There's a headphone jack on the side which is much more convenient than the one on the back of the iMac. Also I prefer the volume knob to the computer's volume control. Overall, not an audiophile quality sound by any means but quite suitable for less demanding users.Digital camera Review: It's okay

I bought this for a Media Center in the bedroom. I was somewhat dissapointed with the sound quality. It is by no means anything near virtual surround sound. It's equivalent to a decent pair of desktop speakers. If you want a decent soundbar, you have to shell out at least a couple hundred for it. I ordered this item about 2 months ago. I have always had gr8 faith in JBL & Altec Lansing products. When I got this in the mail I took it out of the packaging and set it up. The sound was OK however, it didn't blow me out of my chair. Last week it just stopped working for no reason. The volume button lights up so I know it's getting power. NO SOUND though. I have to write Amazon to see if they will stand by this product. DON'T waste your hard earned cash on this product. Everyone is entitled to 1 mistake and I think this is the one for Altec Lansing.. Thanks.
