Digital camera reviews of Altec Lansing inMotion iM5 Portable Audio System for iPod (White)

Digital camera Review: Burned twice!
Summary: 1 Stars

I really loved these speakers with their cute little bag that had a space for the ipod itself (yes, lame reason, but there it is). They also had such good sound for small speakers, that when they started malfunctioning by making popping cut out sounds with heavy bass, I returned them for a refund and ordered them again from a different seller. Unfortunately, I had the same popping noises happen again within a week, so I had to return them once again. Now I give up despite the cute bag. The manufacturer really needs to work on this major defect if it effected one buyer twice!

Digital camera Review: Decent
Summary: 3 Stars

The Ipod dock is okay. You get what you pay for. The sounds is pretty good for such small speakers, however, I get some sort of clicking sound every time a song changes (a little annoying, but again, you spend thats what you get for $65.00.)

Digital camera Review: Dissapointed with Altech
Summary: 2 Stars

I am very disappointed with the audio quality of this speakers, just for the record I am not an audiophile, but the sound quality is really disappointing compared to other speakers with similar prices. I buyed this speakers because I have been loyal to Altec from a long time, that was of course until I got this product.

Digital camera Review: Do NOT purchase this or any other rodut from Factory Depot
Summary: 1 Stars

I have no idea if the product is any good but after waiting weeks for a delivery I found out they can't ship. Don't send email as to why and don't answer the phone. What's even worse is that Amazon will not step in and offer a product solution.
They offer my $$ back but too late to get it delivered and wrapped and off to my son.
Bummer.
Not going to be using Amazon again

Digital camera Review: Don't buy it
Summary: 1 Stars

I really hate negative reviews. They sort of bring me down. This review is intended to help others avoid the mistake I made.

Let me start by saying that the concept of this product really is excellent in that it can not only accept audio from your iPod but also any output jack (meaning such things as your computer or a third music source such as a CD player, etc.)

The really great feature is that you can connect your iPod via USB and thus sync your iPod to iTunes. My expectation was thus: I would have a set of speakers for my computer (check), a docking station for my iPod (check) and the ability to sync it to my iTunes library via the USB cable (check). The icing is that I could put batteries in it and take it to the beach. KEWEL !!!

I am giving this piece of tapioca to a charity very soon. Here's why. First, there are no volume knobs. What you are given are push buttons (that are embedded in a rubber pad) that you cannot easily see and must press (and hold ... and listen) in order to change the volume to a desired setting. It (the volume) cannot thus be pre set visually as is the case with conventional volume knobs. This seems to be a very dumb design...did they actually make this for humans? And just who was the engineer that came up with this design (not to mention the management genius that approved it)?

The sound quality is so poor it will make your ears pop; Aside from what seems like zero base and an overall tinny quality I got a very excellent snap, crackle and pop (continuously) and could not wait to get this wonderful piece of modern engineering disconnected from my system. Happy camper? NOT !!! So let's be reasonable: It is possible my computer system is uniquely unsuited to the electronics in this product? Certainly it is possible, but given the quality of my system and sound card in it, I calculate the probability of that to be very low.

I have since resoved the issue by adding an Apple docking pad and a set of REAL speakers. I can't take em to the beach but I sure enjoy the sound of The Eagles on my I tunes now.

I love good quality. I love careful design (for people) and I seek the opportunity to praise it when it is there. Correspondingly, (not my quote) ... the bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price if forgotton.

It's your money, spend it wisely
