I bought this audio system a couple of weeks ago based on the Amazon reviews I saw here, and I'm really happy with it. The sound is remarkably good for its size, and the portablilty is great. The battery life appears to live up to the product claims, and, having a built-in battery, you don't have to worry about replacing them. Simply plug the unit in, and in a couple of hours you have another 7 hours of music. I throw the unit in my bag and take it to work and back home at night. The radio isn't the best, but it's acceptable for local stations. This is the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars. I'm using it mainly for the iPod docking, and based on that, I'd give it a 5/5 rating. The price was excellent too. I've researched iPod docking speaker systems with radios, and none were this cheap.Digital camera Review: A great product

The first time I saw this product in my friend's house, I was impressed by the looks and the sound quality. I immediately ordered for it in Amazon. I have been using this for last couple of months and it works great. The sound quality, although not as good as Bose systems, but good enough to feel the music. The price is quite cheaper than Bose too. The only thing missing is an Alarm clock, otherwise the product is very good.Digital camera Review: A great value

I've been listening to my new iM600 for the past four hours, since its battery was fully charged and ready to go. Have listened to U2, Bebo & Cigala, Led Zeppelin and, now, the Chairman of the Board.
I can't think of a better value in electronics right now than this audio system. The mids are great, the highs clear. The bass is a tad muddled, but the unit weighs only two pounds. What do you expect? I'll probably buy Altec Lansing's BB2001 Powered Subwoofer to fill out the lower range, but I can't complain about what I have now.
I held off for months before buying an iPod audio system, waiting patiently for the price of the Bose SoundWave to come down. Well, it has, but I wasted my time. I listened to the Bose system at Best Buy and liked what I heard; I have no doubt it's worth the price. But the iM600 delivers more than what you pay for. That would include similar quality at about half the price, as well as an FM tuner and portability. (I refuse to shell out $400 for the portable SoundWave.)
What a great value. For the money I gave, I couldn't have asked for more.

Decided on Altec Lansing iM600 after much Internet research. Supposed to be near quality of Bose system for much less money. Seemed to be a great value (at least as far as IPOD accessories go). First one bought through Circuit City for $139.00 + tax. Good to almost great sound (similar to nice pair of powered computer speakers, but without subwoofer - costing maybe $69.95). Plenty of volume, no clicks, pops, other distortion when playing IPOD. Remote works nice once you get the hang of it and figure out what it will do. Radio excellent reception and sound. Pulled unit forward to look at the back and "fold-down" IPOD dock in front folded with the ipod attached, damaging the connector. Dock still worked, but had to pull IPOD forward to make connection or it would not play. Returned unit to Circuit City, bought same through Amazon for cheaper, and have been very careful since. BE CAREFUL TO NOT LET THE FOLD-DOWN IPOD DOCK FOLD UP ON YOU WITH THE IPOD ATTACHED - DAMAGE WILL OCCUR!!!!!! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE TO LOCK IN PLACE. WHY NO CLOCK/ALARM ON THIS UNIT - NEEDS TO BE A CLOCK RADIO!!!!!! Otherwise a great unit. I must say I am satified with my purchase as I know of no other IPOD dock I would be happier with (for the money) at this time.
