Digital camera Review: Awesome sound!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
This speaker system is the BOMB!!! The sound quality is almost as good as BOSE. The bass rocks!! I'm from Hawaii so I purchased mine from Costco to save me shipping costs but Amazon has a pretty economical price on it. If you don't want to spend over $300 on a BOSE system, get this one, you won't regret it. Another + is that it is so portable. Also runs on battery or AC.

This speaker system is simply awesome!!
It's the best thing invented after the iPod itself. I am very happy with it, great sound, portability and even looks. I bought this one as a gift for a friend, I've had mine for about a year now and no complaints at all.
Digital camera Review: BAD DESIGN, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, BEWARE

1. The tiny wireless remote that comes with this speaker set is the ONLY WAY to change the bass/treble settings. If you lose it, you're screwed. I lost mine, and when I tried to replace it, Altec told me that they don't have replacements in stock, and they have no idea when they'll get more! The guy on the phone told me they ran out because "people lose them so often." If people are losing the remotes that much why are they not in stock?!
2. When I was removing the power brick that comes with the iM7 from the outlet I had it plugged into, one of the brick's prongs snapped off. When I tried to replace it, I got the same response as for the remote... "don't have anymore" and claim not to know when they'll get more. So now my speaker unit is a brick.
This was a horrible customer service experience. Avoid these guys. A decent set of computer speakers will cost you less and provide better sound.
Digital camera Review: BE CAREFUL OF THIS PRODUCT

My stepdaughter received an iM7 and was very happy with the player. I liked it so much that I purchased one from Amazon. However, later I found there were some problems with the product. First, please understand that I do like the sound the iM7 produces and the mobility of the unit. Unfortunately, two months after purchase the power would not come on. My stepdaughter told me that her unit would also not turn on for ten minutes at a time. I called the Altec customer service, and was told to try the player on battery power; if it worked, they would just send out a new A/C power supply. I purchased new batteries ($$), but to no avail; the player still did not work. The second call to Altech was met with a very uncaring and dispassionate rep who bluntly said to ship it back to them. It was like pulling teeth to get the shipping information and necessary packaging instructions; again more ($$). I have yet to receive a new or repaired unit from Altec. Additional research from reviews indicates that many models have a door that does not latch. Bottomline == although the player sounds good, the manufacturing is suspect and the customer service is deplorable.

The iM7 Portable audio was great for a couple of weeks then one day it just went out. Every time I put the volume up the power would shut down. I wish I could send it back.
