I recently purchased this as a gift for my iPod-loving husband. We've been using it for a little over two months now, and we are absolutely thrilled with its performance. The sound quality is crystal clear, and the operation is very easy/user-friendly. It's highly portable and small enough that it's not at all cumbersome. When comparing this to some of the other iPod sound docks, once you factor in price, there's no contest. The Altec Lansing iM7 wins HANDS DOWN. A friend told me that she heard a side-by-side comparison of the Bose and Altec Lansing speakers and was more impressed with AL's sound. We have similar tastes in music and so trusted her opinion. Man, I just love the sound - a fabulous, full bass sound that delivers whatever the volume. And it cost me half of what Bose charges! I bought this from Costco 3 years ago. Sound quality is awesome. It has even been on my airplane baggage twice. Other than the metel screen a little dented, I've got no issues. I went back to costco to see if I can upgrade. After playing around with all of them, nothing came in close to the sound quality the IM7 has. I don't remember the name of the setup I was testing out, but it did have it's own seperate sub. It was no even close to the IM7. The reason I was looking for a new Speaker dock was because I got a new 2nd Gen Ipod Touch. It does not fit in the tray with the Ipod protecter case. IT DOES HOWEVER FIT THE IPOD TOUCH. Just incase someone is searching on google to find the answer like I just did now. Altec Lansing IM7 does fit the Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. Sounds awesome too.
