Digital camera Review: It basically doesn't work

It's problematic to keep it working. A lot of stations just play a message telling you to go to the station's web site and play it from there. Clicking on any of these stations causes a "server busy" error that can not be recovered without removing the device and starting it over. It's just too problematic. Give them a year or two, maybe they will make a new version that works. This one is trash, I tried twice, the first one went back to the store and this replacement is going back to the store. I do have a Sangean internet radio that works great! The Aluratek radios may also be ok but this USB device simply doesn't work.

When I plug the device into my computer, it starts flipping through all sorts of stations. I have to click on it at just the right time for it to stabilize and work correctly. Well, I bought this mainly because I was so pleased with the AIRMM01 and the price was too good to pass up. Sure enough, it didn't work on Windows 7 64-bit. What to do? Email Aluratek support and ask about the situation. Within 24 hours I received a reply directing me to a firmware update. It works just fine how!
For those who say you can find all the stations presented through Google or whatever...true, but given the convenience of this device and again, the current price, this one should not be neglected.

I was feeling nostalgic, remembering listening to BBC radio dramas when I was in college in Europe. I've tried to find them online with no luck.
Then I bought this tiny gadget.
I plugged it into my computer's USB port, and it's like going back in time. It works just fine on my computer running Windows XP. I can listen to radio dramas from the UK, music from Virgin Radio, Celtic stations from Ireland, and other favorites from around the world. I can also explore stations I've never heard of from pretty much every country on the globe.
Mind you, this device isn't perfect. It can take a few seconds for a radio station to start, sometimes you'll find a dead link, sometimes the sound drops a bit, though usually not much and certainly not as much as any other form of radio streaming I've found. Despite the drawbacks, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is missing a favorite radio station from another country. There's no reason to feel homesick anymore.
Likewise, if you're traveling with your laptop and you like to listen to American radio, you should probably take this with you. I've been in countries where I've had the hardest time finding anything on the radio I liked. With this device and a laptop with an Internet connection, you can take this comfort from home anywhere you go.

It is not expensive - and that is a positive.
