I bought this cover together with my DX after reading the warnings from others about the possibilty of cracking the cover.
Here's what I did to mitigate that possibility: Went to Wal-mart where I bought adhesive-backed Velcro. Cut two small matching pieces of each (stick them together, then cut them out). Stick the stacked pieces to the inside corners of the back cover and the back of the DX...this is easy since you can lift the cover up a good inch to get your Velcro inside. Squish the leather back and the DX together and, voila! you don't have to worry further. The Velcro gives enough resistance that if you pull up on the back cover by mistake you'll know because it won't easily come off.
Hope this helps as the cover is really excellent.

This product is a must for Kindle DX owners. It's a little pricey, but the quality and appearance are super and it would be foolish to spend the money for the DX and then risk damage. I hesitated to purchase the cover at first, but after one trip with the DX, I ordered it.
