Digital camera Review: All But The Hinge...

I must first say that I am never without my new Kindle DX. My family gave it to me as a combined Birthday/Father's Day gift. And I have the leather cover. I have no problem with the weight or the quality of the leather. However...
I do agree that there is a problem with the hinge clips, namely the top one. They aren't really hinge clips as they do not hinge. Their intent is to keep the Kindle against the back cover. The magnets on my back cover don't seem to be as good as in the other reviews. My back cover has a tendancy to seperate from the back of the Kindle, and in just three weeks I now have two stress cracks on the face of the Kindle at the connection to the top clip.
I just spent a few minutes trying to explain this to someone over the phone. I was not as good as I should have been in communicating the issue as the offered solution was to replace the cover. Which won't solve the problem. If anyone at Amazon monitors these reviews, a couple of corner binders on the back cover would go a long way in solving this problem. If it is a problem. If it's just a result of me manhandling the Kindle, so be it. Either way, I still give the cover four stars. It keeps my Kindle protected. And I LOVE my Kindle!

This cover makes the Kindle look and feel almost like a "regular" book. The only problem is that there should be either a hinge in the center or a clip on the right edge to keep from opening the cover backwards, as this will put great stress on both the Kindle and its owner, and might even actually break the Kindle. I decided as a new DX owner to go with a medium priced cover that reviews I had read indicated would be nice looking, protective and keep my rather significant Kindle investment safe. I am completely satisfied thus far with my purchase of the Amazon Kindle DX Leather Cover and would highly recommend it.

I was immediately disappointed when I opened this cover for my Kindle. The lack of a closure and the way the Kindle connects to the cover does not entirely secure the device to the cover. As a result, within a few weeks, the Kindle began to crack at the fasten points to the cover. Needless to say I was distressed. Fortunately, Amazon replaced my Kindle without a problem. I am choosing a different case this time.
