Digital camera Review: Avoid It

The cover is attractive and seems durable.
BUT, avoid it. In less than three weeks it created a hairline crack in the Kindle's case. Amazon was great about providing a new Kindle and giving me credit for the cover. I should have searched the web for a quick review of the cover, because I am not alone in having this problem.
If you do have the Kindle and the Amazon cover, be sure to never open up the cover on the rear side of the Kindle.

This cover will damage your Kindle DX. The hook system will cause your left side border to bulge and crack. I paid good money for both Kindle DX and cover and now I have a damaged Kindle after 4 weeks using this cover. would not recommend to anyone.
The only reason I gave it 1 star is cause you have to show something.
Digital camera Review: Bad reviews are right....Cover Breaks Kindle!

I ignored the bad reviews because I didn't see many other options for the larger sized Kindle DX.
Anyway, within a week, it was bubbling out my Kindle and it kept getting worse. Luckily, when I removed the cover, the "bubbling" went down and there is no evident trace of damage. Needless to say, I mailed back the cover. Any suggestions for a better cover?

I ordered this cover with my Kindle DX and they both arrived at the same time. I put my new Kindle in the cover, and for a few weeks, loved everything about it. I have since purchased five other covers (all what would be considered nice ($30-$50) and yet I like the Amazon cover the best - with one major exception.
When I received one of my "alternate" covers, I went to take trhe Kindle out of the Amazon cvover and that is when the problem began. I won't go into specifics but suffice it to say that the Amazon cover cracks the Kindle. I'm not sure why this has not been corrected yet. My guess is that there are alot of people who are happily using the cover and have no idea that when and if they ever want to take their Kindle out, things will go downhill fast. As each person gets to this point, more and more complaints will surely surface.
The shame is that I really like this cover. I have a few covers from M-Edge. They have nice leather covers and a pocket and pen holder. Yet, they are so much bigger than the Amazon. The Amazon cover is the smallest yet by far and fits so much better in all of my bags. It's magnetic latch makes opening and closing much better than having to keep sliding a leather thing into place every time.
Still, the Amazon does not provide a place to hook up a light, and as mentioned, no place for any pockets or pens. Even so, if the thing didn't break my Kindle, I would have stayed with it.
So, Amazon: Please fix this problem. The Kindle is a great product and now with more and more competition, it is not the time to have such a serious and growing problem. Anyone who has not yet found their Amazon cover to be causing these problems, only have a matter of time before they fall victim.
Bottom line: The cover is the best I have used in terms of size, materials, and operation. BUT IT CRACKS THE KINDLE!
So, please do not buy this cover until Amazon fixes this problem. And if you are currently using this cover and have not noticed a problem, try to remove your Kindle. If it starts to crack yours as well, please come back and submit a review. Hopefully Amazon will finally correct things.
