Digital camera reviews of Ameriphone HA40 In-Line Telephone Handset AmplifierDigital camera Review: NOT THAT GREAT Summary: 2 Stars
I bought two of these and installed them on different phones in different locations. They do magnify the sound but also give a ringing feedback when you pick up the phone which the caller also hears. If you turn down the volume.. guess what... no amplification!
I took them off. Not worth the inconvenience, in my estimation.
Digital camera Review: Not for old phone systems Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this to use on phones that we use in an area that has a lot of background noise. The phones and lines are old and we have a hard time hearing customers. However, this amplifies the noise and static on the phone also so they do not work for our situation.
Digital camera Review: Okay for the Right Ears Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased this amplifier and used it for a brief period. At first, the unit seemed to work well by increasing the volume of calls to assist me with my declining hearing ability. After awhile, however, the tone of the unit became uncomfortable to both my ears, regardless of any adjustments I made. It was also difficult for me to understand all of what the other party was saying. The HA40 may work fine for those who have different frequency needs than I do, but it was not for me. I also tried the unit from Clear Sounds and had a similar experience. I returned both of them. (Thank you, Amazon.) I then tried an amplifier called Serene which I purchased at another location since it is not offered at Amazon. It works very well and I am pleased with it.

This was not made known that you need phone that does not have buttons to dial out on receiver. So I am unable to use it until i can buy a new phone
Digital camera Review: Problems Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this for my father. I connected it according to the directions but it would not work, so I took it home and tried it out. Still would not work. Given some symptoms of other phones in the house I suspect it may have to do with the presence of wireless phones in the house (my dad had some also) because connecting this one to the line shut them down. It MAY work for you. I would try to get one to try out first.
