The cooler works well enough. I had two of the Belkin coolers... both of which failed within the first two months. The Antec has not failed yet. But, I haven't been using it as much either, mostly because it's too small for my Toshiba X205-SLI6 laptop.
Pros: Two-speed fan setting. Can be used more reliably on top of a bed than the Belkin could (fan blade hit obstructions too easily and bits of hair tended to get wrapped around the motor cam). So, on those scores, the Antec seems to be designed better.
Cons: Antec is too small for 17" computers. Cord is just barely long enough. The blue led is absolutely unnecessary and is too bright. It consumes power but serves no useful purpose, IMO. I put black electrical tape over the light to kill the harsh light from it.

Product works fine, keeps underside of laptop cool and circulates air constantly.It does not draw undue amount of power when laptop is on battery only.A good investment so far!

Great product! It is very quiet and has kept my laptop very cool.
The only major con I see in it is that the connecting cord is VERY short. The USB ports on my Gateway are on the right side of the computer and the cool pad's connection is on the left side. As it stands now, I have to run the cord under the pad to get it to reach the ports. Not the best way to use it I am sure
I do not see the need for the light on the pad. It is annoying, but tolerable.

I have purchased an Antec USB cooler for my previous laptop. While it did cool down my laptop, in places it was hot to touch, and we all know that notebooks do get quite hot.
Moving forward to 2009- I purchased their new improved model, and let me say that is a great difference form their old cooler.
Your laptop is actually on rubber knobs that allow it to have air flow through to the other side and top to bottom. I'm very impressed with the update.
Con: The cord door doesn't want to stay closed, I have taken it off since the storage area is just for the cord, and since I use the cord 24/7 I really don't need it.
Would I recommend this to a friend: YES!
