My four year old MacBook Pro was chronically over heating. The Antec was an very inexpensive solution. This notebook cooler is now inseparable from my Mac, which has not overheated even once since purchasing this product. The Antec is lightweight and whisper quiet. Hello all have to say about the Antec Laptop cooler is that it really blows....
Lot s of cool air and blows the Chill Mat away.
And it works really well with my Everex 17" widescreen notebook. Because rip a lot DVDs with mine so one day I ripped 3 DVDs in row my core temp got up like 85 degrees Celsius it was hot to the touch and my laptop shutdown and I had give it like half an hour to cool down. But with the Antec even with a maxed loaded processor core the temp only goes to 60C. When idle its like 50C.
Here are a few tips that might help
1. use a self powered USB hub (less power from laptop cooler the system)
2. turn it own about 3 minutes before booting your laptop.(This way cool air is already circulating through the vent and exhaust system)
3. When in use leave the power cable door off(means more air more CF/m)
4. Depending on the laptop design try to center the intake over the Antec's output fan.
5. And to keep Tabs on the core temp do yourself a favor and go online and download this program called "Core Temp" it is free.
My one big Con on it is the damn cable is too short come on guys be nice 24"cable would be ideal

I got the Antec Laptop cooler very quickly and I couldn't be happier with it. While monitoring my laptop's temperatures, at idle it would sit at around 30-32 Celsius. While playing games it would reach around 80-90 Celsius, which would literally burn my lap. While surfing the web, it would reach about 60 Celsius. Now I have a Dell Laptop with a program used to manually switch my fans just for Dell laptops, so I could set my fans to high or low, but generally whenever I need to set my fans on high, the noise of the fan just gets annoying. With the Antec cooler however I no longer need to use the program to set my fan speed. The cooler is very quiet EVEN on the high setting. While surfing the web my computer would stay at 40 Celsius, gaming would remain at 65-70 Celsius, and idle at 25-28 Celsius. As far as battery life goes when plugged in, I have noticed very little difference in my battery life which would run for about 2-3 hours. The only thing that is incredibly annoying about the cooler is the overly bright light on the side of the cooler. It is very bright, so bright it could blind you( not really, but it is that bright)! The light is nothing a little piece of duck tape can't fix though! If you're looking for a good cooler, look no further than the Antec cooler, you'll love it, plus it comes with little raiser for your laptop and sports aluminum top to help with getting rid of heat.Digital camera Review: Antec cooler works well!

I got this product for a good price after rebate, and so far it has worked well. It really does keep your notebook cool like it says. Good buy for a reasonable price.
