This product is absolutely great. It's a lot smaller and lighter than I expected to be - it is about the size of a deck of cards but 1/2 the thickness. This charges any gear I have that has a USB cord. That includes my cell phone (Samsung Instinct) both iPods (Shuffle and mini) and my Archos 605 video player. I used this on a 3 week trip to Europe. The side benefit to the extended battery life is that I could also leave the bulky a/c adapters at home, and just bring the USB charging cords for all of my gadgets. The APC battery backup charges well and doesn't "fry" my devices. It knows to stop charging once the battery is full. There is an indicator light to show you when the device is fully charged and how much charge is remaining when it's in use. I highly recommend this for any road warrior or gadget lover.Digital camera Review: Love it!

I have purchased at least three different devices to try to give myself an extra power boost for my iPhone when I travel (since I like to watch videos/movies or listen to music on the plane but still want to be able to make a phone call when I arrive). None have worked very well until this device. It is awesome and works not only with my iPhone, but also with iPod and with my laptop computer. It has been a real time-saver for me and I only wish I had found it first. Easy to charge, small enough to carry conveniently - carry even in a purse.Digital camera Review: Not bad!

I bought this because of the short battery life of my iPhone 3g. It works well! I also have a charger in my car built into to my after market stereo, but there is a need for a product like this, especially when traveling. I even use it when in front of the TV (I often go through the iTunes store, checking out new apps while watching TV. By evening, my power is drained, so I plug into the charger and continue).
Pros:
*Provides a convenient, mobile way to charge your iPhone when needed
*Small enough to fit in your pocket (it's a little bit lighter than the phone, and overall, about the same size)
*Provides more than a single charge
*Can be used with any type of phone through it's USB port
Cons:
*Does not hold it's charge for any real length of time (I have not yet tested how long it does hold it's charge, but I have learned that if it sits for a long period of time, there is no charge left). Demoted my ranking 1 star for this.
