Digital camera reviews of Apple AirPort Express with Air Tunes M9470LL/A [OLD VERSION]

Digital camera Review: A few things to note
Summary: 3 Stars

I thought it would be a nice thing to go wireless so I spent quite a few bucks but am not sure I'd do it again.
The biggest thing that I hadn't thought about was a wireless connecting makes my powerbook much hotter. In the end I would rather not be sweaty and deal with a wire.
I don't usually listen to music while using my computer. In this case I find it just as easy to use my ipod to control my stero as to use the laptop.
The use of the printer port has been convenient.
So I don't know if these issues are as important to other people or if your usage differs...

Digital camera Review: A great wireless solution.
Summary: 5 Stars

Years ago, I helped my windows-using parents set up a linksys wireless router. It took several hours and more than one trip to bestbuy to get it set up. In the end, I am still not sure how we got it working, but after a lot of work, something came on.

Recently, I bought the Apple airport express for my mac use. Total time between opening the box and having internet was less than 10 minutes. I needed no help. Also, the ability to use powered speakers and the printer wirelessly from my laptop has become a valued addition.

This is the easiest to use and best value (for all that it does) of wireless routers. I am a library grad-student. I put a good bit of research into this before I bought it. Trust me.

Digital camera Review: A lil disapointed
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this unit cause i loved the idea of airtoons, wireless printing and wireless hotsync for my sony clie. i use it with my g4 powerbook. it all works easily but with one major glich. when itunes hits a silent point i can faintly hear a radio broadcast through my speakers. if i quit itunes the problem goes away. the unit is hooked up to my tivoli radio two.

the most disapointing thing is that i cannot find this problem listed on apple anywhere and therefor have to run a wire to my stereo.

without this problem it would be a five star product.

Digital camera Review: A little fumbling, but got it to work.
Summary: 3 Stars

Personally, I had to keep resetting it until I got it to work (aka create a wireless network that could be detected by my Macbook Pro). A little disappointed that Apple products don't "just work" seamlessly.

Digital camera Review: A little help for those who don't speak Apple
Summary: 5 Stars

I love my AirPort Express, now that it works... I had problems from the beginning of setup with the Apple Software. I followed the excellent advice from the first spotlight reviewer, and my AirPort was now a part of my wireless network. I had a little more trouble with my printer. I have an HP Photosmart 7760 (great printer, by the way) and it is "not supported" for use with an AirPort Express per HP. But not being easily deterred, I searched the net for a solution. I found these two sites which greatly help those whose printer is "not supported" or easily installed for whatever reason.
To print from a Windows XP computer to a printer on an AirPort base station, go to http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/1004.html and follow the directions. It's a great site with pictures and step-by-step instructions.
If your printer driver is not found or supported, go to http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/1012.html and follow the directions. This site also has pictures and step-by-step instructions.
I hope this is helpful and removes a little of the stress of setting up your AirPort on a Windows XP computer.
