I've just discovered the wonders of WiFi and couldn't be happier. The side of the box that the Airport Express comes in lists 3 simple steps to getting connected. I was a bit skeptical, but it really was that easy. I had my PowerBook connected to my cable internet, printer, and stereo in under 5 minutes. Everything works seamlessly. When I came upon this product that said I could wirelessly stream high quality music from my laptop to my home theater system, with no problems and great sound, I had to give it a try. I mean after all, I trust Apple to deliver. Boy did they. On a new Compaq laptop running Vista Premium, I figured it would be a hassle. It literally took me no more than ten minutes to set it up solely as a music streamer. Installed the program, followed it an voila, music. No better investment. Pros - PC or MAC Compatible...I have both so this is great! If you are just a moderate user and already have Wi-Fi on your systems there is no need for a router. This does that!
Cons - The only real con is that it does take some know how to connect to a previously setup wireless network, but most people have an idea of what they have set up so it really a non issue
Bottom Line - Get it! PC or MAC it is must!

Reception for a classical radio station in my home is poor, so I got Airport Express to send streaming audio to my stereo. I used the suggestions of another reviewer to set it up on my PC. It wasn't too difficult to install, although I have some experience with PC networking. Performance is excellent. One caveat: music is sent to Airport only through iTunes (provided with the unit), which requires MP3 audio format. This may restrict the ability to stream some stations. Within 5 minutes from out of the box, I had this out and working. Range is great, and it was very easy to set up the security. Couldn't be a better product, does exactly what it is advertised for, and the 5 different sets of settings make it a truely mobile wireless base station, haven't seen a better one yet. I have used both Lynksys and D-Link and they do not come close to ease of use and quality.
