Looking forward to my first Mac Computer and to have a wireless set up. Originally purchased it to make a new compter in my art room wireless... only to find out that I had to buy more stuff...I sent that computer back. So I really haven't tested out the airport to the full. That is why I have rated it 4 stars. But all in all..It was easy to install. And even though I had purchased it used. Apple customer srevice was very helpful. I needed help getting the amber light to go green. To know in the future I will be getting that level of customer service is comforting. I bought a new MacBook over the summer and thought that since I upgraded my computer, I should upgrade my router. After all, why wouldn't an Apple product work with another Apple product? The Airport Extreme is awful!!! I had to play around with it for at least 20 minutes per day to even connect to the internet, and once I would connect, it would drop the signal - several times over a 10 minute period. If I walked away from my computer for even 5 minutes, I had to go through the drama of restarting the Airport and the modem and the computer. I had my ISP tech crew over to my house several times because I was CONVINCED that my difficulties couldn't be caused by the Airport. It had to be the internet connections. Wrong! Enough is enough. I went out to a store and bought a different router, which I am happy to report downloads internet pages quicker and with less drama than with the Airport.
Anyone interested in purchasing my old Airport??

The item was shipped from Amazon. It arrived, plugged it in, followed instructions, and never got light to come on (green)indicating that is was operational. I called Amazon and Apple, was told had to take it to an Apple "genius" in an Apple Store to verify it was inoperative to get a new one. Had to make appointment to see "genius", no appts until following day. So my time, multiple phone calls, my gas money to get replacement. Amazon should have authorized return to them overnight and sent me one next day! Intolerable!
Also not intuitive how to set up a windows pc to operate through this router, especially getting a network printer to operate from windows pc. Had to download another program (Bonjour) from Apple to accomplish this......another phone call to Apple.
Operationally, once got a functional unit, and once all pcs and macs connected wirelessly, worked fine. Good reception all over my house, but not exceptional. My linksys with 802B had better coverage than this 802N unit.
