I've been a "techno" guy for quite a while...I take care of most of my neighbors and relatives computer and networking issues. I've had an iMac for almost two years now, and I've become a real Apple fan! So, it was easy to decided to go ahead and get an Airport Extreme, and because I also purchased an Apple TV. The Apple TV works best with the 802.11n technology, and to be ready when I finally save enough to get the iPad too. I have an older Windows XP laptop that I was going to get rid of, since it was so slow on the internet. I got a USB "n" wireless adapter for it, and it really screams now. Dramatically better. Overall, the Airport Extreme is a snap to set up, rock solid on the connections, very cool with the ability to connect a small hub and have printers and external HD attached. This is my second AEBS. I bought this one for my parents, set it up for them and got it running. It's a mac, so its going to work and be easy to install. The only issue is that PC's seem to have a difficult time picking it up and consistently recognizing it. Very nice router. Sits behind my flatscreen and has a little green dot that indicates the status. Not alot of flashing lights. Simple to install on your pc or in my case Mac. I had been using a Linksys Wireless router for the past 3 years. All my computers ran very slowly even though I updated to a very high speed connection with COMCAST. On December 31, 2010 I purchased a NooKColor and was so excited to be able to download books without having to go to a store. To make a long story short - my NookColor would connect to WiFi but I could not get the internet. I was getting ready to return it when I read another reviewer who said that they purchased an Apple Airport Extreme and the NookColor would connect to the internet without any problem.
I received my Airport Extreme today. It was extremely easy to install and set up a network. Both my Mac & PC are able to use a wireless printer! My internet speed is so fast now - I can't believe the difference. My NookColor connects to the internet without any problems. This little device is worth every penny, and I would highly recommend it to anyone having speed issues and NookColor connectivity issues.
