I got this product to upgrade from a Linksys WRT54G and it is a great upgrade. It is super easy to install and works flawlessly with my iMac and wireless HP printer. I had some trouble getting it to connect with my iPod Touch, however. After spending three hours (!!!) troubleshooting with Apple technicians, the iPod Touch still couldn't connect. I verified that I had an iPod wifi connection with my local coffee shop, so I continued working on the problem myself. The newest Airport Extreme Base Station has instructions in online help that describe setting up "Guest Networks." So, I set up the Guest Network, and, voila, it enabled my iPod Touch to connect!
Another reason for upgrading to the Airport Extreme is to connect wirelessly to a computer several rooms away utilizing my Wii. It worked, and now, I can stream movies from Netflix to that computer through the Wii. Interestingly, both the printer and the Wii connected without using the Guest Network.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Apple Airport Extreme from the moment it was up and running. The first surprise was how much faster the speeds of n are over the g routers; it's an obvious difference. It was easy to install as you would expect from other Apple products.
My only glitch was getting my printer to recognize WPA 2. (If I'm correct, WPA 2 is the latest encryption language verses WPA). My 6 month old wifi Epson 600 printer didn't recognize it at first and I had to call customer support (on the other side of the world) to make sure the settings were correct, but was able to make it work.
Anyway, this purchase was to replace my Netgear router which had a class action suit out for this model. I couldn't figure out why it was dropping the signal repeatedly. A short search of course enlightened me to the cause of my woes. Those problems are now gone. I would highly recommend the Extreme.

Good product, fast, definitley notice the difference in quality, range, speed difference from Apple airport extememe vs. a linksys router. I am also running (2) wifi routers so i have excellent signal no matter where i am in my place. Dual band is good, but i don't notice the difference using the 5ghz vs. 2.4ghz. Maybe i was expecting something different, but everything functions and operates with ease. Installation was quick and easy, and now that everything is swtiching to streaming... I have my Xbox 360, Blu-ray, ipad, roku, and my laptop connected and never seems to slow down. Especially when streaming HD content from Hulu plus or Netflix, there is no Buffer... I would say to anyone looking for a excellent router, and has the cash available, go for this one... I used to have my linksys and it would have to be rebooted or it would lose singal every other day, but now.. I haven't dropped a signal once on the airport extreme.. The time came to replace my Apple AirPort Extreme base station that I equipped with a Dr Bott external antenna to extend the range of and was leery of the new AirPort Extreme line because of the lack of an external antenna. The model I purchased was the latest simultaneous dual band dual antenna model and the range is wonderful.
There are cheaper routers available, but none give you the integration with Apple's AirPort utility and the easy setup for advanced networking that it allows. The ability to set up 2 different networks on different bands & security settings is a great feature and is well worth it. If this unit proves to be as long lasting and reliable as my white UFO AirPort Extreme, it will be well worth every penny.

Buying this Apple Airport base station was the best thing ever! A little pricey but well worth it. The speed of my internet connection has improved and it was easy to setup. I highly recommend it to any one who wants to buy a wireless router to go with Apple Airport. My previous wireless router was d-link and I'm glad that I don't have to put up with slow speed connection and keep having to reset it any more. I hope my comment helps people decide whom aren't too sure whether or not buying airport base station would be a good idea. Buy it, it's a great product.
