Digital camera Review: Apple looks and functionality, in a keyboard
Summary: 4 Stars

This wonderfully simple and sophisticated keyboard from apple makes a great addition to any Apple-based desktop. Personally, I pair mine with a macbook pro that sits atop a Rain Designs mStand laptop stand.

The keyboard is very versatile as far as various controls. Also, It looks great and takes up just the right amount of space on my desk.

The only reason I do not give this keyboard 5 stars is that my first "brand new" keyboard came with a few nicks on one side and two large scuffs above the arrow keys. Amazon quickly and painlessly sent me a replacement for no charge and also gave me a packaging slip to send back the other keyboard at no cost to me. A+ customer service for Amazon and their prompt solving of the problem.

Digital camera Review: Apple makes keyboards for coders!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a Linux geek and web developer. I have a graphic artist friend that is a mac fan boy, and suggested I get the mac keyboard. He had heard me complain about keyboards numerous times, and I finally broke down and tried one out one day. I fathom a comment to express how awesome this keyboard is for all of the tasks I do. it was plug and play for linux (both fedora and ubuntu), and also worked clean in windows.

Digital camera Review: Apple's Keyboard
Summary: 3 Stars

I like the key action. The low profile keyboard is comfortable and feels solid. However the plastic surface of the keys was poorly fabricated. Mine has degraded in the year I've had it. The surface plastic is delaminating and leaving holes like it's been scratched out.

Digital camera Review: Awesome keyboard for a keyboard geek
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a keyboard geek... I've got several and nitpick excessively. I use them a lot and am always looking for something better. This is actually one of the best keyboards I've used partially because it's unorthodox design.

It's low keys, similar to that of a MacBook Pro make it easy to keep clean. They also have a low transit time to press down since they don't move as much. That means less effort and less time to press a key. Sounds trivial but that adds up. Save a few ms here and there and it adds up to seconds and minutes for fast typers. Spring quality seems good and it's very quiet. Good length of cord is included as well.

It's not a perfect keyboard for Windows, but you can remap keys using third party software to get pretty much anything you need done.

Once you get used to the low profile feel, it actually feels strange going back to a "normal" keyboard.

Digital camera Review: Awesome with an obscure gotcha
Summary: 4 Stars

The keyboard is awesome. Only problem is, if you use a KVM switch to run multiple computers from one keyboard, it won't work. Research confirmed that this new kbd is different in that it requires a *direct* connection to powered USB jack (i.e., directly to the computer itself) -- and regards KVM box as a "passive" hub. DOH! Had to return, despite LOVING the feel.
