I was looking for an Apple USB cable to work with both my ipod and iphone. I saw these cheap "Apple" cables and decided to buy them. They work fine with ipod but iphone will not recognize the cable and will not connect or charge. These cables are cheap Apple imitations. I knew the price was too good to be true. This cable is NOT an original Apple product and does not work with my iPhone. Bought from SF Planet. Was only $4 or so for two of them, so hardly worth my time to contact them for an RMA and then have to pay for shipping to return it. The picture shows the USB cable with the smaller plug. The smaller plug is designed for the ipod/iphone touch. It clamps on and off without the need for clinching the side button.
What I received from eTech (my shipper) was not that product. But the older USB cord with the pinch buttons. On top of that when I use one of these older USB cords to sync my iPod Touch 3G it doesn't sync all songs properly. So I feel jipped. I was sent something that I did not buy.
Just because a USB cable is a standard product. Doesn't mean the items can be treated as interchangeable.
Look to see who is shipping your product. If it is eTech, do not buy.
