Digital camera reviews of Apple Mighty Mouse Kit

Digital camera Review: Love it ... when it's not clogged up.
Summary: 3 Stars

Another one bites the dust: second one just lost most of its scrolling capability (so that's 2 for me since it first came out). Think it has to do with the dryness of my hands, though I suppose anything from one's fingertips would likely clog it up after a while. But... I otherwise love it (it fits my hand near perfeclty) and will be getting yet another one pretty quickly.

Digital camera Review: Mighty Disappointing
Summary: 1 Stars

The mouse looks lovely, but unfortunately it has so many problems:
- The tracking is awful, I mean truly appalling. A good test is to move the mouse in little concentric circles - look at the mess on the screen! Compared to my old Windows Sony mouse which was 100% accurate, this thing jumps around all over the place.
- The side buttons that launch Expose are too hard to squeeze.
- The right-click button needs to be clicked right its edge, like you're dangling your finger off the edge of a cliff. Any further in and it does a left-click. Annoying. It is all very well Steve Jobs saying he doesn't like buttons, then trying to 'hide' the fact that it has a right-click, but if the solution is more aggravating than the apparent problem he wanted to solve, then what is he really achieving?

A bitter disappointment of form winning out over functionality. Please step your game up with your next accessories Apple.

Digital camera Review: Mighty High Price...
Summary: 1 Stars

I use Apples at school for video editing, and every single one of them has this waste of plastic tethered to them.

First, this is essentially a one button mouse, despite it being described as "multibutton." The right button function is nonexistent, and the side buttons only work when I over-grip the mouse tight enough, but of course not when I actually want them to work.

The scroll button is prohibitively small, and I have yet to find one that works properly except when brand new. At best, most only seem to scroll up - frustrating, considering I tend scroll down more than in any other direction.

The cord is too short and very thin. Yes, it is designed to be plugged into the keyboard, but it is still a poor design, as if they were trying to save a few cents on wire or something, rather than just manufacture a normal length of cord.

All this for $50! You end up paying for looks as well as a daily lesson in keyboard shortcuts just to avoid using it. Why don't they just reverse engineer one of Microsoft's models that sell for half the price, even if they do not look as hip, but at least actually work?

Digital camera Review: Mighty Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of those items that you either hate or love. In my case, a Mighty Mouse came with my computer when I bought it last year and I'm one of those who like it a lot. My wife also really likes it so I bought another one for her computer. I believe that most complaints come from the fact that it's default settings enable the extra "buttons" and with those activated it tends to be too sensitive. A slight squeeze or a little pressure to one side or the other of the nose end will activate something you may not want. Likewise a little extra pressure on the track ball may cause some unexpected action. So the first thing I did was to deactivate all secondary buttons and use it as a one button trackball mouse until I got used to it. Then I re activated a feature or two on the other buttons that I really want to use. Now both my wife and I are big fans.

The track ball on mine started acting up (it would scroll one way but not the other). It got so aggravating I finally stopped using it. Total piece of junk.
