Digital camera reviews of Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter MB570Z/A

Digital camera Review: Exactly What I Needed
Summary: 5 Stars

The Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter MB570Z/A was exactly what I needed to connect my 2009 MacBook Pro to an HDTV. I also bought a AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters) to connect the adapter to the TV, and if you want sound you'll need a Belkin Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug/2-RCA Plugs (6ft).

Since my TV is not a display screen that was specifically built for computer viewing, the refresh rate was not fast enough for the movies I played on my MacBook, but it wasn't slow enough to diminish my movie experience. Also as a note my TV is 720p, so using these cables on a 1080p HDTV might make the refresh rate more noticeable.

Overall I enjoy using this product to watch YouTube videos and iTunes movies on a much larger screen.

Digital camera Review: Excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

Couldn't expect anything less than excellent for this apple item! this works great with the new (late 2008) MacBooks

Digital camera Review: FAKE - NOT MADE BY APPLE
Summary: 1 Stars

This item is not made by Apple. It is a fake and does not say so in the listing! I contacted the company and Amazon and got a refund after sending it back. Amazon should do a much better job ensuring that the items listed on their site are correct. This was a big waste of time.

Digital camera Review: Fits better than the VGA adapter
Summary: 4 Stars

This adapter is similar to the VGA-styled one of course, and now that I have both for different applications (DVI for 2nd monitor on Mac Mini at home, VGA for projector at work) I can say one thing, the DVI adapter at least allows the DVI plug to actually "plug in" completely and the screws can be secured, whereas with the VGA adapter insertion and rubber bands are about the best I can do. But they both work.

Digital camera Review: For $30... Really?
Summary: 1 Stars

Works just great as described.

But it wont hook up with a standard DVI to VGA adapter so you have 2 choices:

Buy Apple's DVI to VGA adapter that fits this DVI port with missing 4 pins.

or

Buy Apple Mini Display Port to VGA adapter.

Both options over $25.

Screw you apple and your nickle and diming customers so you can have a completely incompatible and crippled product when it comes to working with the rest of the world and its standards.
