I have the old ipod nano, small screen, long one...I think is the ipod nano 1st generation. This product by nike is the best. The only thing you can not see the screen which is OKAY for me, i am running and don't need to see, just to hear. When using the volume I was a little worry since fabric cover the entire ipod but It works! buy this product for you old ipod nano. This is a must have if you are running or exercising. The other negative reviews are correct. Too small, can't see screen, the fit is so tight it affects the wheel. I spent $30 dollars on a little strip of cloth that actually makes my nano and nike+ useless. If this was designed and made by some 3rd party it would make a little bit of sense, but as it is, I have no idea how they screwed this up so badly.Digital camera Review: Useful if you make some "alterations"

Like everyone else said, it makes no sense that you can't see the screen. I often don't even use my headphones when I'm running - I just use the iPod+ to track my distance and keep cumulative totals for me. So I DO need to see the screen while I'm running.
I ended up cutting a square hole where the screen is, and now it's perfect! Nike should just make this part of the design, and put a piece of clear plastic over it to protect the screen. Then, I'd give it a 4.5-star rating. The band is comfortable, and the controls work fine through the material.

This product is great, has a great price and its useful. Fits perfectly various arm sizes as the velcro it's adjustable, and yes, its true it hasnt a window to view the screen, but you can always create playlists. And even if it did had a screen, it would be quite difficult to use since youre in motion.Digital camera Review: Waste of money

I ordered this armband when I ordered my 2nd Generation 8GB Nano. I wish I hadn't. I've never actually used it. I think it is probably possible to put my Nano inside it, but it covers the screen if I do, and if I wanted an iPod with no screen I would have bought a "shuffle" (no thanks).
If I had bothered to squeeze my Nano into this thing, I don't know how I would have attached it to my arm, it is so small. Apparently designed for small children.
Why two stars? The black and red colors match my watch, and I appreciate the washing instructions included with the product, as I'm sure if I ever used it, I would need to wash it. Saving this one for the next yard sale.
Postscript: I have been completely baffled by some of the other reviews posted for this product, which refer to a software module. A little research reveals that they are probably referring to another Nike product, the "Nike + iPod Sport Kit". The product featured on this page is NOT THAT PRODUCT. It is just an armband. Nothing more.
