Digital camera reviews of Apple Nike + iPod Sport Kit for iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3GDigital camera Review: Good training tool, but don't expect perfection Summary: 4 Stars
The sport kit didn't work right out of the box for me. In all fairness, I used the marware attachment for my shoes, and didn't get the nike shoes. It took one frustrating night, doing 9 miles on the treadmill, to finally calibrate this sucker. The distance function works great, I don't have a GPS watch so it's the best measure of distance i'm going to get. The speed one definitely doesn't work well. The current speed reading that you get when you click the center button on the iPod is all over the place, one second it's a 7 minute mile and the next it's an 8.30 mile. I use the distance and time run measures to figure out my average speed instead.
Digital camera Review: Great Motivation Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great way to motivate yourself to run. Just hook it to your ipod and there you go... it records your data and then syncs with itunes and sends it to nikeplus.com.
Pros:
nike has turned running into a competitive sport. It keeps track of all your data for you. It is easy to work. Nike now offers a training program that fits to your level or fitness.
Cons:
if you dont have a pair of nikeplus shoes, your going to have to buy an additional Lacelid. For better accuracy of distance, you may need to calibrate it.
This is a great product and it really made it easier to get up and run. highly recommended to those who are competitive, or new to running.
Digital camera Review: Great Motivation Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great product for motivating someone to run. I would suggest getting the shoe pouch to go along with it as well as a case to hold the nano and the receiver at the same time. I would not suggest getting the case with no window as it does not allow you to see the screen of the nano. Nike makes another one with a clear view of the screen for a little more.

I have turned into a running freak since I started using the Nike+. It has become slightly addictive and I love the voice that tells me how many miles I have done and what I have left to do. Makes the longer runs a little easier. Although the distance can be a little inaccurate on the longer runs I have found it pretty spot on for the shorter runs. I love the fact that you can track your progress when you upload. Maybe I need to read the instructions further but although it tells me what my personal best for 1 mile, 5k, 10k etc has been it doesn't tell when I did it. That bothers me a little but obviously not too much.
The only small issue with using it is that of reliance. I am doing a half marathon in 3 weeks time and use of all MP3 players & IPod's is banned for "safety reason". When I initially heard this I started to panic....what will I do without my nano???!! Guess I will just have to wean myself off it for the next three weeks. That said I will continue training with it after the half marathon. Overall a great product.
Digital camera Review: Great Motivation & Easy to Use Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this for several months. I was not a runner before I purchased the product but wanted to start running and needed motivation. The sport kit lets me create a goal and tracks my progress. And the accuracy of the sensor is really impressive. Whether you want to run 10 miles over 4 weeks or 100, it tracks your progress and the number of times you've achieved your personal goals. You can look at your runs by day, week, or month, and see just how far you've come! I'm up to almost 200 miles run with the Sport Kit and it was worth every penny! I'll be running a half-marathon in January!
