I purchased this unit for $24.95(made by Apple) to charge my wife's new iTouch hand-held device. It works as promised and does not tie up a USB connection on the computer. It arrived with a cable having a USB connector on one end and an iTouch connector on the other end. (To make sure you get the cable spend the additional $0.12 and buy the bundle for $25.07. I was lucky I guess to receive both items). The charger unit has retractable prongs which are convenient and make travelling with it easier. My charger was 1-3/4 in. square by 1 in. thick and weighed 2.3 oz (65 grams). It felt substantial and not "cheap". The cable was 36 in. long and weighed 1 oz (28 grams. According to the user's manual, input to the charger is 100-240V with an output off 5V at a 1 Amp rating. I subscribe to Amazon's Prime shipping. Once the annual subscription fee is paid, 2-day shipping on any "Prime" item is "free". A great value if you buy more than a few items from Amazon over the course of a year. This item came from the "Buy_4_less_Shop", not Amazon Prime so I had to pay $4.99 for shipping. None-the-less, my package arrived by USPS Priority Mail in less than a week with no problems. This is a great concept. I was tired of having to turn on the computer just to charge the iPOD. This product allows user to plug the USB cord from the iPOD into it and plug the adapter into the wall outlet. It is especially nice for charging an iPOD while traveling- when a computer is not convenient.Digital camera Review: Great Item

I bought this item a few weeks ago and I must say I am very pleased with it . I no longer have to boot up my computer just to charge my ipod . If you have a video ipod then you know it uses some Battery juice when watching movies . I simply plug in and it is charged in no time and I am out the door with my ipod ready to go . I know there are cheaper version of this adapter , but in reading many reviews I saw where so many people had problems down the road with the cheaper ones . I stuck with a product made for apple so as not to void my warranty also .
