Not much of a sound loss or any such issue. I am able to use the logitech wired headphones with this adapter for both stereo sound and microphone (for ip telephony and normal iphone calls).
Excellent product and great price too.

I have a Belkin adapter that is hard rubber and not flexible at all which pulls out of my phone every time I put it in my pocket. This adapter however has a small jack with a flexible cord about 4" long so it doesn't become an antenna like extension off your phone. I use a case with my iPhone 3G which makes headphone jack becomes recessed like the original iPhone. So I needed a headphone adapter so that I can use my Shure E2C headphones with my iPhone. When using the adapter, the full signal was not able to transmit to my headphones. When playing a hip hop song, only the vocals and highs were transmitted. There was no bass and treble so songs sounded horribly flat. Do your self a favor and avoid this product. Use the $3 you save and buy a couple songs on iTunes instead.Digital camera Review: Great converter

This converter worked great with my iphone 2g, did not break apart like another headphone adapter I had got. Music sounds great coming out of it!
