I bought this adapter at the same time I purchased the Shure I2C-M headpones for my iPhone based on the recommendation from Amazon.com. First, it was not needed...the headphones plug in to my iPhone just fine. Second, when I plugged in this adapter, I lost the mic on my headset. It work when I don't use this adapter, but won't work when I use it.
Buyer beware...it only cost $0.01, but you get socked for $3 in shipping charges for an item that doesn't work. Not even worth the cost to return. Totally worthless item.

The item I got looks just like the item in the picture, but the problem is that it is misleading. The picture shows a 4 pin connection on the male end, but I was trying to use the connectors to make an extension cable and found after taking the adapter apart that only 3 of the prongs is actually connected up. This means that the adapter works great for the headphone portion, but the microphone is then useless and will not work. This is misleading and bad business. I would recommend staying away from this adapter and possibly this company if they are going to lie about products like this.Digital camera Review: Doesn't work at all

I ordered of these from Bargaincell. What arrived doesn't work at all. A regular 3.5" headphone jack does not go deep enough into the female end of the adapter making it unusable. I'm trying to return.Digital camera Review: Doesn't work at all!

I received the item pictured but it doesn't work at all! No sound comes through it at all, even if you use the Apple headphones with it! Don't bother wasting your money on it.
