Digital camera Review: Apple iPod. Summary: 5 Stars
I will admit, i was a Creative fan, having previously owned the very old Creative Nomad II. But, Apple's 4th generation iPod is surely in a generation of its own.
Posivite.
1. There's something special about the iPod different from the rest. The slick finsh, and the amazing durability of the product is clearly different from its competitors. What really sets apart the iPod, is the features it carries. It has games, adress books, and a note pad. This is more then anything else on any other mp3 player out in the market.
2. The userinterface is very good. It is easy to select what to listen to, and to to select the different functions. Though it does take awhile to understand the spin wheel, you will soon realized it was genius invention that helps you scroll through a huge list in a very short ammount of time. You can as well customize the menus to ensure you get only what you need the most.
3. The sound of the player is very good as well. There aren't any skips when you move around, thus it is a good audioplayer when doing excercise related acitivies.
4. Charging the battery is really simple. You can plug it into any computer if it has a USB port, thus it is so much easier to recharge it on the go.
Negative.
1. The battery is the biggest disadvantge of the iPod. It is a pain when the battery complete dies, as you have to send the thing back to the shop, and it costs a lot.
2. The transfering of the files took me a while to master. As unlike the creative software, the apple software doesnt use words such as upload songs, but rather update playlist.
Having owned serveral few other, i truly believe this is the best mp3 player out in the market. I've had it for about a month now, and its been absolutely brilliant and i really recommened this to everybody. Its defiently a sound buy.
Digital camera Review: Apple iPod: Gotta Love It Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased an Apple 20 GB iPod online. I was very pleased with this products usable options. I heard about this product through word of mouth. I live on a college campus where half of the student population owns one. Music is very important to me and I need something reliable enough not to skip on those long runs, but also big enough to holds many songs from my never-ending list of tunes. Now I can put all my CD's on to one, easy to use, music "jukebox". The Apple iPod is the perfect compliment to my musical envy. Its large hard drive allows me to carry up to 20 GB (or up to 5,000 songs) around with me on the go, but yet still maintains a petite package that fits in the palm of your hand. The sound clarity through the tiny "earphones" is astonishing. The beat pounds through your ears like you're in a New York nightclub. The button selection is cut down to only five buttons a touchpad roller that lets you easily scroll through songs or other options.
Not to mention that besides its usability, the Apple iPod also comes with some kickin' software, iTunes, that is fast, easy, and capable of networking with other iTunes users to legally share and plays song from other peoples play lists. My iPod is one thing I never leave the dorm without!
Digital camera Review: Apple will not repair after warranty is over! Summary: 1 Stars
If your hard-drive breaks just like mine after one year, you will get to hear this for the first time. Two of the apple reps told me "You'd better buy our protection plan for your new one!" On top of that they said "Or you can REPLACE yours by another "refurbished" unit for $250!" After all an iPod is a circuitry with a hard-drive. By having NO repair service after the warranty, does it mean that their fancy circuitry has no value at all?
Battery is another problem. Just like many Li-ion batteries of cellphones, the battery is going to lose its capacity by almost half after a year or two with almost certainty regardless of how careful you have been handling it. Unlike cellphones, you can not just buy a replacement for $15-20. The iPod battery replacement cost is around $110+ after shipping and all.
Have you read the fine prints before the purchase? I sure did not. The beauty of the iPod blinded me. Now that mine is dead, I'm now reading them... They clearly say... Apple does not repair.. battery...hard-drive...whatever. Of course, their replacement prices are madly expensive.
Though iPod has been in the market for some time, it just became popular quite recently. Yet, there are many flaws that may eventualy drive iPod from its huge market share in the near future. I wanted to see when most people have lived out their warranty.
After 14 months with it, Apple simply told me to shrug at my iPod's death... and buy and a new one.
Digital camera Review: Aren't suckpods great! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought a so called 'new' Ipod..... And I've had problems ever since. For starters, Itunes is almost useless, and of course that's the only music program your able to use to do ANYTHING to your Pod, strike one.
Every tutorial I've read and tried didn't fix my problems. And that consisted of 1) restarting my PC 2) reinstalling Itunes, 3) resetting my Pod. Nothing worked, nothing will. Strike two
The fact that you are almost forced to buy a new Pod if you encounter problems, unless you wanna spend hundreds to repair it. And you can't repair anything yourself. Third and final strike.
Is the Ipod worth buying? No. Is it a good gift? Yes.... If you hate the person your buying it for that is.
Buy a Sony MP3 player, or the new Microsoft player. Thoese would most definitely be better buys
