Digital camera reviews of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Silver (6th Generation) OLD MODELDigital camera Review: A couple more features would be perfect Summary: 4 Stars
It works very well. Sounds fine, and boots very quickly. Here are the things which could be better:
You cannot control how files are stored and access them by that organization. I am used to using that on my computer, squeezebox, and old iriver, and find it very useful there.
You cannot put rockbox on it. This seems to be because apple doesn't want you to, so they thwart it. Too bad, since it would cure the first problem.
The quick start instructions could be clearer on operating the touch wheel (just touching for "dialing" vs. actually pushing it). I had a lot of trouble until my daughter set me straight on that.
Digital camera Review: A great replacement Summary: 5 Stars
After I broke my iPod 3 years ago I swore I'd never go back, and drifted for several years through a series of lesser-known mp3 players. But after I mysteriously lost my last one, I thought maybe I'd spend a little more and get something I could watch at the gym as well as listen to while I do homework.
True, it could have more functions (my last mp3, a Sansa 8GB, had a FM radio and a voice recorder, plus a micro SD slot if I needed more space), and though pretty I still do think that Cover Flow is really quite useless. But it works extremely well, much faster than my Sansa in terms of skipping and finding songs. Seeing that the movies can really be watched and scrolling isn't a problem at all despite it being a touchpad, I felt more motivated to actually organize my music stash and find out how to rip videos (which, in turn, made everybody come to me for help ripping them; not a bad feeling when I'm usually technologically illiterate).
It fits nicely in the hand, and the weight is really nothing to worry about. With a silicon cover, I don't have to worry about dropping it anymore like I did with the first one. When you watch movies, the screen is crystal-clear and perfectly bright, each color beautifully illuminated (I really didn't expect it to be able to display such color). With the headphones, sound is very clear and the volume is also within the range I usually use it at. All in all, I'm very satisfied with what my iPod gives me, despite it being pricier than the last mp3 I had (but it's still a very good deal for the amount of space it has!).
Digital camera Review: A very good product gone great! Summary: 5 Stars
I really am enjoying my iPod classic 80 Gig. Ipods were already a very good product. This one is great. It is more streamlined in size, has better digital sound quality than earlier versions, and displays video sharply on a large screen for the size of the unit. I have 2 weeks of music on my iPod and it isn't even a 1/4 full. I highly recommend this product for music lovers.

Digital camera Review: A wonderful investment.... Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first ipod purchase although I have owned several mp3 players. I wish I had bought this several years ago instead of several smaller less expensive mp3 players. I have had no problems with my purchase, and I would recommend it to anybody. It has plenty of storage for all my music, music videos, video clips and so much more. I love the new silver apple is using instead of the white. It looks very classy.
Digital camera Review: A worthy upgrade Summary: 5 Stars
The most important thing to consider about purchasing this iPod is what you're coming from or comparing it too. Sure, it may not be that much different than the 5th Generation, but for people that have held on to older models (I had a 3rd Generation) or for whom this is their first iPod, it's absolutely as good as it gets. Sure, the scroll wheel isn't perfect, but it's better than the significantly older models, and it's definitely better than nothing! The only real major that I can see from the 5g is the new hard drive capacity. When I was considering getting a new iPod, I knew I wanted space, but I wasn't quite willing to sacrifice the slimness of the 30 gig. Now that's not at all an issue and all my needs are satisfied. On top of that, the new cover looks terrific (not nearly as rounded as it looks in all the pictures) and the cover flow is nice, though not perfect. So I would say that if you've got a 5g, it would probably be wise to hold out for a bigger iPod touch or something, but if you've got an older model or nothing at all, then this is just about as good as it gets.
